Tai Kyu Choi, Founder
Mr. Choi is a South Korean entrepreneur, successful businessman and the founder of KBC Corporation and its affiliate companies in South Korea such as KEMP, KBCI, and Smart Card Research Center. Mr. Choi was the son of a wealthy entrepreneurial family in Cheongju, but his father's business empire collapsed due to the Korean War. Mr. Choi graduated from Seoul University, the most prestigious university in South Korea, the Korean version of Harvard. Self-made, Mr. Choi established data entry processing business in Seoul in 1971, which he named Korean Business Consultants, the forerunner to KBC Corporation and what "KBC" stands for. Fluent in Japanese, Mr. Choi traveled to Tokyo often and saw the booming of credit cards. Mr. Choi instantly foresaw the time of credit cards was coming to South Korea as well. Working closely with the task force team of Korean banks who were launching the system of credit cards in South Korea and formed the first credit card company in South Korea called "BC Card", Mr. Choi won contracts and became the major supplier of the plastic credit cards, credit cards issuing systems, and direct mailing systems and services to BC Card. KBC Corporation was the leader in the Korean credit card industry, and Mr. Choi was the first Asian president of ICMA (International Card Manufacturing Association). Retired in Vancouver, Canada, Mr. Choi is supporting for the next generation of KBC Corporation as an international real estate company. Mr. Choi wishes the name of KBC Corporation lasts more than 100 years.
Seon Woong Kim, Chief Executive Officer
Based in Seoul, Korea, Mr. Kim was the CEO of DS Networks. Prior to joining DS Networks (www.dsnetworks.co.kr), Mr. Kim was a project officer responsible for a number of residential development projects at Daewoo E & C ("Daewoo"), a Korean conglomerate construction company founded and established in 1973. Throughout his 20-years career with Daewoo, Mr. Kim has been involved in all phases of the development and management process for over 15,000 residential units representing billions of dollars worth of real estate. Mr. Kim was the officer responsible for the oversight of Daewoo's activities in multiple cities, including a portfolio of 18 projects containing mixed-use development. While at Daewoo, Mr. Kim's project team achieved more than $1 billion of contract sales for three consecutive years, generating a net income of more than $100 million each year. Jacob Choi, President
Mr. Choi, based in New York and Los Angeles, is President and co-founder of the new generation of KBC Corporation in the United States, with his father, Tai Kyu Choi, the original founder in South Korea. Mr. Choi has substantial experience in the real estate finance & development. As Vice-president & CFO of Daeseung USA Corp., Mr. Choi established a US subsidiary of DS Networks (www.dsnetworks.co.kr), a South Korean based real estate development company, in Los Angeles in 2003. Mr. Choi invested in four major real estate development projects in California, New York, and Florida. Due to his success, Mr. Choi was relocated to DS Networks' headquarters n Seoul in 2005 and became Director of the International Real Estate Division. Since then, he has absorbed substantial real estate development knowledge through the Asia Pacific Region, specifically in areas such as South Korea, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan. Mr. Choi's success and vast network allowed him to connect to several South Korean institutional investors which allowed him to organize a real estate fund called "KTB Silk Road IV", a special private equity investment trust, with KTB Asset Management in 2004. Bong Gi Kim, Managing Director
Mr. Kim, based in Seoul, Korea, is Managing Director of KBC Corporation and has substantial experience in high-rise multi-family real estate development in South Korea. He has managed and successfully completed 9 multi-family condominium development projects with 3,636 residential units since 1993. Mr. Kim was Director of DS Networks (www.dsnetworks.co.kr), a major multi-family condominium development firm in Seoul, Korea. The most recent project was Daewoo Prugio Yongsan-song, Chungju, 474 residential units of for-sale condominium development projects from 2013 to 2017. Prior to that Mr. Kim successfully completed 5 multi-family for sale condominium development projects with 3,162 residential units in Daegu and Gimbea. Below are photos of several of his projects:
Hoon Sub Choi, Managing Director
Hoon Sub, based in Seoul, Korea, is Managing Director of KBC Corporation. Hoon Sub has overall responsibility for co-managing projects with Mr. Jacob Choi, with a particular focus on portfolio and asset management, investor relations, business development, budgeting, and operations. In the past, Hoon Sub worked with Mr. Jacob Choi at DS Networks (www.dsnetworks.co.kr) in Seoul, Korea from 2004 to 2008. With Mr. Jacob Choi, Hoon Sub also has substantial real estate development knowledge in Pacific Asia such as South Korea, Malaysia, Philippine, and Uzbekistan. Sukjin Henry Cho, Esq., Legal Counsel
Mr. Cho, based in New Jersey, is legal counsel of KBC Corporation in the United States. Mr. Cho is the founding partner of Pak & Cho, P.C. a New York based law firm practicing in New York, New Jersey, and Washington D.C. for over 25 years. Its major law practices are International Business Transactions, Corporate Law, and Commercial Litigation. Mr. Cho's expertise of legal practice is Commercial Litigation along with Commercial Transactions, Commercial Real Estate Transactions and International Transactions. Mr. Cho litigated and tried a wide variety of contractual claims and commercial disputes, which arose in connection with the diverse business activities of clients in corporate, commercial, commercial real estate and international transactions before the courts. Mr. Cho was also involved in various commercial transactions involving private acquisitions and other commercial transactions including Joint Venture, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Commercial Real Estate Transactions.
