Our Story
KBC Corporation was originally founded by Chairman Tai Kyu Choi as a computer and consulting company in Seoul in 1971. The company manufactured magnetic strip plastic cards for the first time in South Korea and was the only certified credit card manufacturer of VISA and MasterCard in 1991. KBC Corporation has provided total card systems, including plastic cards, issuing machines and direct mailing services to credit card issuers such as banks, financial companies & retail stores, hospitals, and so on. The company had developed its unique smart card systems and smart card chip operating systems as well. KBC Corporation was listed in KOSDAQ in 2000 (Stock Number: 038460). In 2006, the founder, Chairman Tai Kyu Choi retired and sold the first generation business of the company and its name was changed to BioSmart (www.biosmart.co.kr). Since then, Mr. Choi and his first son, Jacob Choi, have incorporated KBC Corporation in the U.S. for the second generation business of the company as well as for international real estate investment, development and management.
